The Organization of Student Clubs and Communities (OKVETO) is now stepping into a new phase with its official foundation. On March 21, 2025, the formal process began for establishing OKVETO-ASSOCİATİON, a student association designed to strengthen, organize, and support university clubs and communities.
Although it started as a local student initiative, the decision has now been made to expand OKVETO into a national-scale organization in the near future. OKVETO introduces a new approach with a governance model that aims to help student communities grow in a stronger and more organized way.

OKVETO is More Than Just an Association
OKVETO is not merely a traditional association. It offers a model that allows student clubs to protect their unique identities while becoming more professional and effective in like with a federative form of government. It aims to reinforce the operations of student organizations, support collaborative projects, and enable more sustainable partnerships between student communities.
🚀 A New Era Begins for Student Clubs with OKVETO!
With its official establishment, OKVETO brings many innovations aimed at making student clubs more structured and impactful. The association seeks to provide long-term solutions to common issues faced by student groups and help them grow through their own internal dynamics.
So, what does OKVETO offer to student clubs?
✔ Stronger representation and advocacy,
✔ A governance model that promotes collaboration within and across clubs,
✔ Better connections for sponsorships and financial support,
✔ A digital platform to help clubs adapt to new technologies,
✔ Access to national and international projects,
✔ Support for exclusive events and initiatives,
✔ Internship opportunities for graduating students.
These developments are not only solutions to today’s problems, but are also designed to anticipate future challenges student communities may face.

“Student Clubs Are Laboratories of Growth.”
Eren Acar, the founding president of OKVETO, emphasized the role of student clubs and communities in university life:
“Student clubs and communities are one of the most vital veins of a university. They’re not just groups that organize events — they’re laboratories where students discover themselves, push their limits, and prepare for professional life. We are ready to take responsibility to help turn student passion into real impact.”
Referring to university journal as the starting point, Eren highlighted the unique synergy that emerges when multiple clubs work together. He also called on university administrators, businesspeople, and public figures to provide more direct support to student clubs.
“Through my own club, I gained hands-on experience in areas like human resources, event coordination, and corporate communication. And there is so much more to learn. But since most club work is voluntary, many young people struggle to find funding for their communities. While there are people who support clubs, we still need to increase this support — and also focus on developing the skills of those running these activities, educating members, and improving the entire process.”
What started as a dream to publish a student magazine has evolved into a larger vision. The founding of an NGO in Yalova is being positively received by both the university and the wider city. As a platform that also welcomes alumni who have past experience in student clubs, OKVETO positions itself as a meaningful and practical initiative that shares its accumulated experience for the benefit of active clubs and their members.
